USSHA Foundation is an action based development foundation established to generate an aggregated effort to alleviate developmental setbacks of the communities. "USSHA" is a Nepali word which means 'morning' that is perceived as the best starter of the day. Likely, the name of the foundation mirrors the theme ‘A pioneering step for social transformation.’

USSHA Foundation was envisioned and established on June 23, 2008 by few Nepali youth who are presently working in different civil society organizations and are students of development studies and social work.

The goal of the foundation is to create a society where every individual, no matter their class or economic status, will have access to the privileges and resources now only available to a select few.
